It really depends. On idtech 5 you're going to be getting 60fps on consoles, while you could probably go higher, any benefits of that will be debatable. If you're using a LCD for those higher PC resolutions, it's basically pointless. I don't think framerate really effects gameplay much. Games like Quake 3 had quirks where the game would let you move faster if at 76 or 120Hz. I think that's the main reason people got that impression. Image Quality goes along with resolution, it's a fine improvement. More effects? When we're talking about these equal assets games, the console version and PC versions have the same effects. Control is a matter of preference. [edit : playing on PC with a gamepad isn't much of a choice if the game is an online FPS or other genres where mouse+KB have a tactical advantage.] Price of the game is a big deal if you live in one of the regions where they rip off console gamers.

Since you're really asking, I'll go into why FTL IMO. Installs, DRM, maintenance, compatibility issues, even what this topic is about (if you'll need to upgrade to play X announced game). Cheaters are more prevalent in PC gaming, building a PC is just time consuming and I find myself lacking the motivation to do that anymore but OEM systems are a ripoff...

Those are just my reasons. Personally I'd take lower image quality in exchange for not having to deal with that crap. Someone may say console version FTL, but this is why I say PC version FTL.

No one seems to love both, PC and consoles... it has to be one side or other.

I have a fair high-end PC and two next-gen consoles. It's great! So you all lose.

Typical response of a troll. Look, if you want to debate the points go ahead. But if you make to make 'cute' comments like that one, please don't.

If it's the same game, or nearly the same game, I'll take ease of use over slightly better graphics.

But I'm all for PC gaming when the product is leaps and bounds over what a console can do. Like Doom, Wing Commander, Quake, Deus Ex, Everquest and all of those in their respective time periods.

Shut up man. All you ever do is rag on me from every little angle you can. If I type out a well thought out page of information and all you do is snipe, you're the one that should be leaving. Just because I don't agree with you on every point you shouldn't always be attacking me. It's just games.

Here's a PC title I haven't seen anyone mentioned that looks amazing.

Holy crap, how did this become another PC vs. consoles thread? You guys need some serious help for loving a certain platform moreso than the other to the point it becomes an unhealthy obsession. You guys don't take it in the can from your PCs or consoles and have grown some sort of strange affection from that, have you? It's actually pretty sad whenever I read those types of comments.

Anyway, having said that, Wolf Quest 2 looks hot.

Have anyone mentioned Starcraft 2 yet? Not going to push the hardware limits, but it sure is a monster.
