I hope they make an announcement on this soon. So far BF2 is still getting a lot of playtime from me (whenever it doesn't crashes that is in Vista). A new one soon will make me very happy. If it turns out to be better than BF2, I'd upgrade if necessary for that game.

I dont believe BF3 will be that taxing on the graphics.

I'm sure that'll be the case. I was just making a point on how much I liked BF2.

AKA, a Quad Core / w 8800 series or greater in SLI will last you a good 5 years now at 1920X1200 0AA / 8AF. With all Games but "CRYTECH 2 Engine" games running over 60FPS
I doubt the ID thing, Carmack said his new engine wouldn't push hardware/graphics to its limits like engines before it.

I don't know, BF2 was fairly heavy on requirements when it came out. Part of that was because of SM2.0, but you still needed to have a pretty good system to run it. I remember having to swap out some parts to run the game because my Ti4200 wouldn't work.

Spore may be a big game itself but it's certainly no monster for hardware specs. Going back and looking at those Alan Wake screenshots after playing Crysis so much leaves me much less impressed than I used to be. But I'm sure if it's still in development it has the chance to get polished more and look even better.

Yes BF2 was very taxing on hardware, specifically system memory.
