Just enjoy the card...sweating who has the fastest will make you crazy. I went from an 8800GTS 640 to a 7900GTX for a while, back to an 8800 and now my very inexpensive 9800GTX. My games play and look just fine and that's a kick ass card you got...just enjoy it!

Yeah i love my EVGA SSC 280GTX... the next ATI card will draw too much power and emit too much heat. Its not for me, therefore i will be happy with my 280

Exactly. Have fun now and play until the games you want to play at high details start to slow you down; try not to let the market tell you when to upgrade, let your games tell you.

![]() Read how its design is different from normal crossfire and try again. Anyways enjoy you gtx280 . Mine is working great so far at 2560x1600 (although like you said I'll be dumping the gtx280 for hd4870x2 soon).

Will 4870X2 be recognized as CF the same way GX2 is recognized as SLI?!

And when the 4870x2 is released in August, it might very well be pushing up daisies as the performance champ by November, buy even earlier. So what is the point? You by new high end tech, it gets cheaper and faster in short order. That's the norm, not the exception.

The phrase "Future Proof" is a joke in regards to hardware, unless of course the future you refer to consists of a span of 3 to 10 weeks. Turn fraps off and forget about frames per second and just enjoy your games ![]()

GTX 285 SSC Goodness!

Wa wa wa... If you want to stay on top then buy the newest and best all the time. If money is an issue then don't complain
This is why I only uypgrade when I can't enjoy top settings for games anymore. No point staying on top for just the sake of staying on top unless you got the $$$ to burn.

If HD4870X2 has fixed microsuttering then the card might be wonderful. I still think SLI scales better then crossfire. And Nvidia will drop the price for GTX280 down to $400 with rebate maybe even $375 in order to compete HD4870X2. In my case i will be getting second GTX280
