Crap. I paid $449 a couple weeks ago from New Egg. Oh well. Great card anyway.

This is an excellent deal if you want a 280 and need a new PSU...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Size=10&page=1 Silverstone 1000W with a single 80A 12v rail + EVGA or XFX GTX 280 for $620. You save $60 on either combo. Alternatively, you can get the same PSU with a Visiontek 4870 512Mb for $455, also a $60 discount.

Well this deal is still on, but newegg has the card for even cheaper when you figure in shipping.
BfG must be cutting the price across the board since it spread to NewEgg now... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143141

Still the same price in Europe, but they are quite cheap now (around 330E).
Tomorrow, maybe they will drop the prices. Isn't the X2 launch tomorrow ?

Is this a hint of a GTX 200b coming soon, or just competitive pricing?

ATI 4870 at the same supplier for $264.99 with Grid. The delta was getting too wide maybe? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...235&CatId=3670 They may be wanting to try and rain on the 4870x2 as well since it is supposed to MSRP at $549 and might drop to $499 pretty quickly. This is the craziest pricedrop war I have ever seen. C. |
