Default nforce 600 series, where is the GL support?

I have a main board from 600 series
when I visit nvidia.com support page
and enter my card info I get this

Quote:
No downloads were found for your configuration.
does this mean, go away we had fooled you!

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=185494
so as the man there said, does this mean that nvidia kicks us [Linux users] out again

I've browsed the list of supported card in 169.12 driver manual appendix
and even the beta driver version of 170something

and I'm using Fedora 8, and driver from rpm package version 169.12
and livna repository
every thing works good
and lspci lists the cards correctly after I run
/sbin/update-pciids
as root

The nvidia logo appears and works fine
but no GL at all

glxinfo | grep direct
Error: glXCreateContext failed

I can understand having "no", to mean that my card is not supported but what does this mean

and

glxgears
Error: glXCreateContext failed

I can understand small fps but what does this mean ?

please reply, before I submit my review of this card
I'm a very active Linux community member.

marking this card as "Doesn't Work"
or "Requires 3rd Party Drivers"

this depend on your reply

I was inspecting my problem
and I found this in my Xorg log

(**) NVIDIA(0): Enabling RENDER acceleration
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the GLX module; please check in your X
(EE) NVIDIA(0): log file that the GLX module has been loaded in your X
(EE) NVIDIA(0): server, and that the module is the NVIDIA GLX module. If
(EE) NVIDIA(0): you continue to encounter problems, Please try
(EE) NVIDIA(0): reinstalling the NVIDIA driver.

(II) NVIDIA(0): PCI:0:16:0 (GPU-0)
(--) NVIDIA(0): Memory: 524288 kBytes

below it I found

(II) Loading extension NV-GLX
(II) NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA 3D Acceleration Architecture Initialized
(II) NVIDIA(0): Using the NVIDIA 2D acceleration architecture
(==) NVIDIA(0): Backing store disabled
(==) NVIDIA(0): Silken mouse enabled
(II) Loading extension NV-CONTROL
(==) RandR enabled

does this

(II) Loading sub module "wfb"
(II) LoadModule: "wfb"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module wfb
(II) UnloadModule: "wfb"
(EE) Failed to load module "wfb" (module does not exist, 0)
(II) Loading sub module "ramdac"

has any thing to do with my problem

So, am I using the right driver, I mean 169, or should I move to 96xx drivers

or is it because AIGLX

Default Re: nforce 600 series, where is the GL support?

The confusing thing is that the nforce 600 series has a geforce 7 series GPU built into it, so when you go to the web site, you need to get a GeForce 7 driver (either linux 32 or linux 64, whichever you have).

The latest driver should install ok (did for me), but see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72490 if you have trouble.

One issue is that PCI vidmem must be mapped below the 4GB level, which may require mucking with your BIOS settings if you have more than 3GB of memory.
