Well, since I mostly play MMOs, I said DX10 (Vista)...That all COULD change when they finally release the DX10 client for Age of Conan...If it's super crappy, I will change my answer to Vista with DX9 forced...

I prefer XP DX9, but I use DX10 Vista as I'm too lazy to reboot my PC. :

DX10 is/was nothing but hype and alpha-staged work IMO. And now they are working on DX11? Come on, give me a break. Why not improve on DX10?

DX10 was always a standard, they are improving it, and its called DX11. BTW they are probably working on DX12, but they won't say anything yet.

I was working on DX13, but unluckily Microsoft told me to stop.

They also said a bunny hat made of pancakes had nothing to do with an API. I told them to stop being so short sighted. Hence I'm now banned from 1835 73rd Ave NE, Medina, WA :

I am dual booting both XP and Vista still. Most of my video editing apps and music creation gear exhibits some strange behaviour still on Vista so most of my time is in XP.

When I do play games though I find XP is quite a bit more smooth and higher frame numbers than Vista.

Especially the Sli jitter is far worse on Vista than XP.

Generally gaming seems much smoother on XP. I am just waiting for the killer DX 10 game that is a 'must' play on Vista.

I don't see it much of a standard, since only a few games support it. Now, the success of that support is a different story.

Vista with DX10. DX10 wont get any better unless it's utilized.

DX10 is de jure standard something that already been set in stone and agreed upon.

they can't change DX10 anymore, to improve on DX10 they are making DX11

Ok, that's cool that they are making DX11 I guess. Maybe DX16 will be out by December, especially with the way Microsoft has been releasing things . . .
