This isn't a game that you are suppose to go slow and watch the world, its meant to be played at a quick pace with you always on the move. Like it said all your moves are based of momentum.
The devs said the red highlights can be disabled.

Looks a lot more interesting when its played fast like that.

Still, I see a LOT of dieing in this game... hopefully they have a good autosave system.

Looks great, only thing I would change is to loose the auto pickup of weapons after knocking an enemy. If I have to drop it every time it's going to get annoying but I guess it keeps the speed up.
Flashback IMO is one of the greatest games ever. I've really been hoping someone does a remake, Bionic Commando style. It would sell like hot cakes. I still have Another World installed and play it every now and then.
