Default TwinView in command line?

Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to switch to the TwinView mode under command line?

I often need to have a projector working under Clone mode. Right now it seems I always have to first connect the projector to the VGA port, open nvidia-settings in X, click "Detect Displays", then choose the clone mode, adjust the resolution of the laptop screen to match the resolution of the projector. The TwinView works fine, but it seems I have to do a lot of clicks to get it work.
I am wondering if it is possible to do all these under command line mode so I can put them into a script and call it with some keyboard hotkey?

The system is a Thinkpad T61p with Quadro 570M card, Ubuntu 8.04.1 64bit, Nvidia 173.14.09 driver

if you can set it in the nvidia-settings GUI, you can probably set it using nvidia-settings on the command line.

Code:
nvidia-settings -q all
to see all settings,
Code:
nvidia-settings -a setting=value
to change a settings.

See the man page for details.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking into the man page.

quick question, did that work for you? I'm trying to do just that, and for practice was trying to change the screen resolution, but I can't figure out how. Running nvidia-settings -q all, there seems to be four settings that are relevant:

FrontendResolution, BackendResolution, FlatpanelNativeResolution, FlatpanelBestfitResolution.

Well, ok, only two of those are really relevant, but all four are read only options. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I don't think it's possible with nvidia-settings, but you should give disper a try.

It works great for me - Lenovo R61, Quadro NVS140M, ArchLinux x86_64
