hi all!
i use the forcedeth driver 0.61 on a gentoo box with kernel 2.6.25-gentoo-r7 (board is an ASUS M2N SLI-Deluxe, CPU AMD X2 3800+ EE, 2 GB Ram). i use gigabit ethernet but i get only about 12-14 mb/s while transferring files from/to the gentoo box no matter what protocol i use (SMB, FTP...). the other machine is a winxp sp2 box with also gigabit ethernet (Marvell 88E8053 on an ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe). i tested transfer rate to other gentoo machines with other nic's - and got better results. i tested other cables switches with no improvement. can someone confirm this bad performance and is there something i can do to improve transfer rate? thx in advance snIP3r |
