Default GeForce2 MX/MX 400 resolution problem on Lenny based distro

Hello all,

I've been using GeForce2 MX/MX 400 on my previous Debian-Etch instalation with no problem, having my usual resolution 1600x1024.
After upgrading to Lenny I didn't find found nvidia legacy driver in my usual debian repositories and I had to build 96.43.05 legacy driver, but I didn't get my 1600x1024 resolution anymore.
Highest resolution I've got despite of searching many forums was 1280x768.
Now I've notice there is a new driver 96.43.07 I've tried to install it in hope it will solve my problem, but I didn't succeed.

I got message:

Error: Unable to build nvidia kernel module

Can anybody advice me?
Point me?

Thanks for help/advice

Mira

PS: Don't know if it is important, but I am using 2.6.21-1-multimedia kernel
