Supposedly bringing proper EA Sports titles back to PC next year. We'll see if they can deliver on that promise or not.

My stock on EASports is sharply on the rise after the PC announcement. It will either shoot up or dive back down depending on further announcements with their PC titles. As a Madden gamer, it has also been on the rise since the lead producers decided to participate in community forums such as OperationSports, answering questions, taking in ideas and suggestions, not to mention even applying changes to the game this year based on suggestions. For instance, a few uniform errors were fixed for Madden 09 based on user feedback alone, and one significant bug in the game's tackling was fixed too thanks to a challenge a user put forth to EA to beat his ESPN 2K5 videos. They do this mostly on their own time too and have taken a fair bit of flak from some, so it's commendable and something I thought I'd never see EA/Tiburon do.

EA outside of their sports titles is basically unchanged. I feel they could be doing better with the resources they have, but I'm not against them to the point of boycotting or whatever.

EA, I don't mind. They recognise PC is growing, they support Exclusive PC games, Spore and Crysis to name a few. They did an "ok" job with CnC 3. They are pushing PC hardware sales with games soon.

What I don't particularly like about EA is that they want to own everything, I guess in an attempt to own the gaming industry so they can do as they please. Also I think they could supprt products better after release. They themselves said their patching sucks, so at least they are honest.

So overall I don't hate them.

I think people don't like EA when it comes down to patches.

biggest problem with EA is their world domination plan.

They want to own every game company. tried to buy ubi, well failed but probably will try again. Once a compnay gets a bit succesful they will try acquire it. often ripping apart the company re-locating people to some other projects.

Then all those ****ing PS2 ports.

Spore is another good example, I completely forgot about that, very risky title. Nothing has ever been done like this before in this type of scope, nice to see they give Will the green light.

Aside from their sports game which I don't care about, they released some good stuff in 2007 including Airborne, Crysis etc. So yeah, I don't hate them but I don't love em either. I hate their after sales support, releasing 20GB patches. =/

EA can manage to screw up everything they touch. Crysis {pre order beta), C&C (support), BF:BC (pre orders), Pacific Assault (whole game and follow up support), Airborne (yeah, that will be in the box on release, Yes it will have mod tools, sorry we used an early version of the engine and can't do what we said we do) and now Warhammer (pre orders) to name a few off the top of my head)

So in my personal opinion they have gotten worst and I've worked closely with them on the Meal of Honor series. They talk a good game (no pun intended) but fail to execute or deliver on their promises time and time again. It seems they will say anything to get you to forgive and forget, just sign the damn pre order - but don't change your address...........

Here is their latest mess. Someone pre-orders Warhammer limited edition 8 months in advance, but for some reason can't change their address after they move (how dare they move). So what does EA do? They cancel his pre order without him ever mentioning it.

Head on over to the consumerist and read the full email exchange with EA.
