X CPU Usage increase if two monitors are used with one graphic chip
First of all I explain my problem.
I have a graphic card with two NV17GL [Quadro4 200/400 NVS] rev 163 chips, where I can connect four monitors. Always two monitors use on graphic chip. If I use only one Monitor per Chip the CPU usage of X is around 2%. If I connect a second monitor to a chip the CPU Usage increase about 10% per Monitor.
In both scenarios I let X draw something on the the screens. It is not important if I use the first or the second output of the chip if I only use one monitor per chip, the CPU usage is in both cases minimal.
Now my Question
It looks to my, that only one output per chip is rendered on the chip itself and the other is done by the CPU.
Is this the default behaviour?
And if it is, is there a possibility to activate that the second output of a chip is rendered on the chip too?
