I'm married, therefore I am not an 'extreme' loser and focus on real life. It's a GREAT game.

No offense to any in particular, I just think that any man past school age should be working at least 40 and spending quality time with family or girl. Games are one of the lowest priorities there is.

I play a ton but don't buy a ton of games cause I play a lot of mmo's. Hell I played most likely around 40 hours or so this past week maybe more but most of that time was on EQ1. Also I work a full time job but I don't have family so no one to bug me about playing.

45 hours per week is softcore...

Extreme gamers do minimum 70 hours a week.

I think if there's a new game that I love I can do 35 hours in a week. 4hr/day on weekdays + 7hrs/day on weekends.

Sadly, now-a-days most games don't offer 35 hours of gameplay.

Back when I was hooked on original Team Fortress, Counter Strike, CS Firearms mod, Battlefied 2 + 2142 I was routinely putting in 30 hours/week.

Now that I'm married. I'm lucky if I get 15 hours/week.

I can average 50 hrs over TWO weeks, depending on a variety of factors... per Steam.

More than that and I would have to have no life at all.

QFT.

My friend has a full time job and somehow manages to get between 50 - 60 hours of WoW on a normal week. When he was in between jobs he broke the 100 hour record for a week span according to xfire.

I'm not going to argue about the whole get out and do more stuff because I agree with all that, but 45 hours isn't all that extreme. I'm not sure that I know of anyone who actually buys 24 games over a 3 month period either. It almost seems like a paradox because if they were paying for the games themselves they wouldn't be able to make that kind of cash and get that many hours of gameplay in a week.

i'm lucky if i manage 4 to 5 hours a week total. 45 is just nuts - even if i gave up all my other interests i dont know if i could manage 45 hours a week.

so this is why i never win in multiplayer haha.

Jeez, and I thought that when I went through Max Payne 2 in one sitting the other night I was off my rocker. Heh. I'd love more time for games, but the reality is that there's more to life, such as school, work, family, boy/girlfriend, etc., than simply games.

That said, I do like to incorporate games in my daily routine to balance it all out. My 30 minute sessions of UT2004 or something are sufficient

When I first got into gaming and built my first PC, I would average 50-60 a week. Now, I average 2-4.

I go back and forth. Some weeks I don't break 10 hours while others I can go over 40. Just depends on what I'm playing and what's going on.

Yeah i use to play all the time when i was younger but now i look at my Steam playing time, and it's usually 2.6 hours in the past two weeks. cause nowadays i'm very busy with my job

On a nicer note it does make the games i play take twice as long to beat,so i get a longer enjoyment&replayability period
Infact i just beat The Witcher only two days ago for the first time since i bought it.

Also playing online PVP&MMO games take alot more of your time, than quick Singleplayer games.

Same here... when I was a teen I remember putting some crazy hours into Final Fantasy, but nothing like that since.

Now-a-days I play about an hour a day, two at the most, and there are many days I don't play anything at all.

Work + Girlfriend = No time.

I can't even imagine what it will be like with a kid.
