Well a good example of a game out now would be TDU. It has thousands of miles of roads to travel. If you're playing by yourself it can get old, but if you have some friends cruising around with you, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself entertained. The next closest thing would be GTA: SA.

I honestly didn't like Grid or Dirt, so as long as codemasters doesn't have anything to do with the handling or graphics, then maybe I'll like it. Not really getting my hopes up about it though.

The main things that could make or break a game like this for me are:

-Lan play
-Ability to get out of your vehicle
-graphics -- From the video it looks like the textures don't stand out well, making it hard to see where you are going

If you could run your own dedicated server where you could set up jumps / tracks so there is some racing and places to mess around, it could be a lot of fun. Especially if you could go in and tweak the handling of your vehicles, and make them really fast.

New Fuel Vid, now this is the same game engine being used for Operation Flashpoint 2 so gives a good indicator of that games enviroment, looks fkn outstanding if this is what we can expect in OFP2!

GRID and DIRT were and still are awesome...Sims have the opposite effect on me than what slawater suggests...i pick up something like R-Factor or 1 of the many similar Simbin games...spend an hour getting the controls bearable then spend 10 mins doing a few laps around a very bland track...before navigating to control panel add/remove and uninstalling it.

Its all personal preference and i prefer Arcade style racers with a little realism on the handling that doesnt go anywhere near the realism of a sim.

Its same with flight games...im gonna love HAWX but you would never catch me playing FSX in a million years.

Theyre the type of games that you leave on your hard disk and play every now and then...you dont spend days on them but when out of the blue, one day when you decide to play them you spend hours on them. I guess thats all part of them being called an Arcade style game. However, upon first getting GRID and DIRT i did not put them down untill i had 100% completed them.
