Ever since I set up TwinView for a second monitor I've noticed that on occasion small lines on the primary display start to flicker randomly in brightness. It's a subtle effect but increases in severity with time.
I can always fix this by restarting the X server, then it doesn't seem to happen again. I suspect some synchronisation issue that occasionally crops up when the displays are initialised but have no idea how/if it can be fixed. I'm running the 177.68 driver but have had this for a while, probably back in 169.xx too. |

please confirm that it's not a monitor issue: can it also be fixed by turning your monitor off and on again?
my syncmaster 245B needs rebooting sometimes :/ |

![]() You're right, switching the monitor (a Dell 2407WFP) off and on again fixes the problem. I don't recall seeing this effect under Windows but this is an easy fix I can live with. |
