Lightbulb [BUG REPORT] 177.70 + 8800GT + Core/Mem changes = instant freeze with crazy colors

As soon as I try to change either core clock or memory clock frequency the system freezes, the screen start blinking with white, green or any other random color.

It hasn't ever happened with any of the previous drivers.

177.70 - the bug is still here. Please, resolve before the final release.

Bug reproducible with a nvs140m, no bug report due to system completely unusable.

Seems to me that nvidia settings ignores the values you enter and sets the smallest possible value, which results in this error.

Please fix this, nvidia.

TIA

I was able to reproduce this problem today; it should be fixed in a future 177.xx graphics driver release.

I'm still having the problem with 188.x
Any idea?

Yes, with the latest 180.xx beta drivers the issue resurfaced again.

Seems like they forgot to add the fix to the 180.x branch.
