Default Xorg working half of the time with 1920X1200 ( Pictures inside )

I can finally get it to work by continually restarting X. Sometimes It takes 1 time ... some other it can takes 10+ times. It is completely random.

This is in 1920X1200 resolution but it doesn't want to take all the screen space. (Samsung 2493HM)

If I use this screen I never get that issue. But the resolution is 1360X768. (Samsung 26'' 720p)

Video Card is a NVIDIA 8800 GTS.

see this stickied thread: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46678

generating one nvidia-bug-report.log for each monitor would be best, it's easier to spot differences then.

What's the twinview configuration in there for? Doesn't look or sound like you're using both monitors. I've got the same panel (2493HM) and have never seen anything like that..

I'll attach my xorg.conf, but the relevant items -
Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
	Identifier "Layout0"
	Screen 0 "Screen0"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
	Identifier "Monitor0"
	HorizSync 30-81
	VertRefresh 56-75
EndSection

Section "Screen"
	Identifier "Screen0"
	Device "Device0"
	Monitor "Monitor0"
	DefaultDepth 24
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 24
		Modes "1920x1200" "1680x1050" "1280x800"
	EndSubSection
EndSection
Maybe try removing the twinview stuff and reworking the modes like I have?

Hm, maybe it's something with the card? Have another you could try or are there any bios updates? Mine is a Gigabyte 8800GT (GV-NX88T512HP), probably nothing like your 8800GTS...

Isn't it possible to use a DVI connection instead?
That is usually easier to get working well on an LCD monitor.

How did you see he wasn't using DVI? Does that show up in a log somewhere?

Yes, it shows in the log as a monitor CRT0 instead of DFP0.
