laptops like lenovo T61 with nvidia quadro 140 NVS have a broken bios
or something, switching video output with FN+F7 doesn't work as it should. using 20 clicks or so in nvidia-settings I can detect displays, enable the disabled screen and disable the old enabled screen to switch outputs. nvidia-settings command line options don't help to automate this. nvidia: please add a simple "--switch-output" to nvidia-settings, so we have to go through these 20 clicks. in the meantime here is the link to an ubuntu bug where I published a tiny command line tool to switch the video output using nvcontrol api: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/263887 |
