Default Remove SoundBlaster to put in EvGA 8800GTX

I purchased a gtx280 not to long ago and was thinking of putting my 8800GTX back in and use it as the pyhX card. I would need to remove my sound card to get both them to fit.

Do you think I would hear a big difference between the on board sound and a sound card.

My specs are in my signature, thanks for any responses in advanced.

It's better in there rather than in a closet right?

Ya.. but probably not worth losing HW sound... assuming its a X-Fi or Audigy Card... also depends on what his MB sound is....

He could sell the 8800GTX and use the money to buy a single-slot GeForce card for PhysX. A GTX would be overkill, but an 8800 GS, 9600 GSO, or 9600 GT would work just fine. He'd probably even have a little bit of money left over and still be able to use his sound card.

I don't know if I'd use a card like that, especially not now. Nothing will take advantage of it and it'll just suck a lot of power and heat up your system.

I wouldn't bother. If you have no need for the card, sell it. They're still excellent cards so people will still buy them. You can always get a smaller, cooler card later on once Physx is actually used for something.

I pulled out the sound card and put in the 8800GTX. It does make quite a difference in the games that support PhysX although, as Capt said its hot as hell now both in my case and room.

As far as the sound goes, personally I can't tell a bit of difference between the Fatality X-Fi and the on board sound (IP35Pro). I'm sure there's a difference but I can't hear crap as it is so its not that big of a deal.

thanks for all the comments, I'll leave it in there for a day or so and pull it out. The heat in my room is barely manageable as it is.
