Time has kinda caught up with them IMO. I do think that they've been outmatched in the recent years by others, for example Relic Entertainment has proved a supreme player in the RTS genre while Age of Mythology was just old whine in a new bottle. Hell AoM was even outmatched by C&C: Generals IMO. And Rise of Nation/Legend, Dawn of War, Company of Heroes.. those are the RTS of the future. As a major Halo fan I can't do anything but look foward to Halo Wars in anticipation, but my expectations are not very high..

AoE and C&C are the only RTS games I play, so of course I hope for more down the line... One can't help but wonder if this "restructuring" is related to MS' focus on consoles now.
Either way, in any form, I look forward to another AoE. |
