Default SLI on/off

Looking to make sure this is going to work before I buy a new motherboard.

2x8800GTS 512. Current motherboard is not SLI, so I am looking at the ASUS P5ND. I have 3 monitors.

What I would like to be able to do is to enable SLI when gaming (and use on the center monitor). Other times, I would like to disable SLI and use all 3 monitors as I do now, either in Xinerama or TwinView + 1 Seperate X Screen.

Right now, I am using switchconf to load in the appropriate xorg.conf. Is it possible to toggle SLI on and off in a similar manner.

Comments and answers appreciated!

I have a setup with 2 monitors and 2x8800GT. In xorg.conf I have the configuration for TwinView and SLI together, when SLI is on , TwinView is automatically disabled by NVidia driver, if I want TwinView I comment out the SLI line in xorg.conf and restart the X server.

your looking for a feature that is impossible for xorg to do sorry but i think u are asking if sli can be dissabled with ease instead of going into xorg. well not possible u have to keep restarting x in order to get each feature to work. wont all work at the same time unless u have 4 cards installed and enable sli on just 2 of them and the other 2 running seperaate screens or something like that.

cant help really any way good luck <3
