I heard nForce2 chipsets were priced the same as KT400 chipsets...Look at those prices and you'll have a good estimate ( look how cheap some KT400 boards are...sweet! )

Anyone know when the NDA for nForce 2 reviews is lifted or is this generally against NDA to disclose when the NDA is over? I wouldn't know since I've never been in a position to sign one
I say this assuming their IS an NDA since HardOCP has admitted to having a NVIDIA engineering sample for two weeks and it appears from his tight lippedness statement that Chris from AMDZone has one as well.

I hope Nvidia has worked closely with AMD to produce the nForce2 chipset...
To be honest, Via sucks...hate the patching...hate the latency problems...and I hate the crappy Raid hard drive performance...

I definitely hope Nvidia kicks Via in the nuts this time around...

71 days and counting...<sigh> Hmmm, that makes this release at least 63% as unsuccessful (timing wise) as the last nForce release.

They said September did they not?
So they're not very unsuccessful at all, because I count 0 days late.

Last time they missed their date buy a mile, now they haven't yet missed anything.
They will, though, but not nearly as bad as nForce. Recent statements say early-middle October or possibly late September.

You're comparing a promised and not delivered to a promised and the given month hasn't even passed. I don't quite understand.

No, SavagePaladin, they actually just revised that statement to say October. Late...as expected. Maybe they'll get it right with the nForce3?

Oh, and it's now 72 days and counting meaning this product launch has taken 65% as long as the last (unsuccesful, timing wise) one (preview to review) SO FAR. Tick Tock Tick Tock.

Why the pessimism? Companies really ought to be ashamed of paper launches and that's exactly what this was. IMHO, anything beyond 45 days from preview to review is unacceptable. Where's the damn Athlon XP 2400+'s? Maybe I should preview the new Savyj 10000ghz 128GB L2 cache mega CPU I'm thinking of building. Volume shipments are due Q3 2012. What the hell good is this practice except to raise the value of one's stock? Sad.

Allright children, some thoughts here:

AMD 333Mhz FSB cpu's "launch" on october 1st.
nForceČ was the first to officially support that bus-speed, so it's quite logic for them to wait on AMD so they can truly show the power of their platform processor to the world from day one.

AMD might have postponed their cpu's for the same reason, nVidia had some problems with AGP8x and DDR400 support and AMD might want to showcase their newest cpu's on a platform that actually delivers what it promises (unlike SiS' and Via's latest).

BTW, there isn't a company in the world that doesn't paper launch these days. I have yet to see a retail build by ATI Radeon 9700. Seems only Intel is able to deliver reasonably on time, their 2.8Ghz cpu was in from day one, be it in (very) small quantities.
