Default 177.76 - Scrolling with IPP=2 still slow

I don't know if this is a known problem but scrolling (konqueror, dolphin; kde4 without compositing enabled) with IPP=2 is much slower compared to IPP=1. After 2-3 seconds of scrolling it gets smooth but it seems not to be related to powermizer.

I get the same 2-3 seconds scrolling problem with both IPP=1 and IPP=2, except with IPP=1 Avant window navigator is usable, where as with 2, it is incredibly slow.

Edit: Card is a 8400GS
Kernel: 2.6.26.5-custom #1 SMP PREEMPT x86_64 GNU/Linux

The issues are also present when I use the 2.6.24 kernel.

posting the exact card model would be helpful,

that way the nvidia guys at least would know if it's a (somewhat known) problem with the GeForce 8 Series or others

The slow scrolling appears to be caused by the powermizer on my setup. The scrolling is slow until the GPU jumps to the max (or medium) power level - then the scrolling is silky smooth.

It's a bit disappointing that the card cant even render text at a decent speed without forcing it to run at the fastest clock speed.

(8400GS)
