Do you mean it's irrealistically simple ? Could be, don't know.
(Nevertheless... what if one has an application that does display in as a dead simple way as glxgears ? Will that suffer the 3 times drop and shouldn't even complain about it ? You can call me a stupid nerd as you wish but I still can't accept that.
(and yes, I have heard about vertex/fragment processors and the like.))

Btw, the results with the unigine sanctuary demo are: (kernel 2.6.22.6)
with 177.70b: 25.4 fps
with 177.76b: 22.1 fps

...which is indeed much less than the glxgears drop, only 10%.
(it's constantly decreasing with every driver release. With 173.73b it was 29.9, with 173.14.12 : 29.5)

Thx, NvFuchs, our letters have crossed in the post.
So the bottom line is that the glxgears fashion of displaying 3D stuff is not representative.

Hi, I have a performance regression with this version (177.76), kde4 is slow again. For example, the Folder view plasmoid is extremely slow (for example when you scroll it), is quite unusable.

From my part, I'm going back to 177.70 that works perfectly (even with some glitches).

Ps: I attach my nvidia-bug-report.log

Thanks and great work nvidia team, seems that you are now motivate again

So does this mean that fill rate limited apps may encounter this performance drop with 177.76 ? I mean, something is much slower. Just want to find out what. (e.g. to avoid using that in own code.)
