Default 177.76 not working in my setup

screen just goes blank, and if I try switching to console, machine freezes. I can ssh to machine only before I try switching to console, and that is how I was able to get bug report

Card: nvidia 8800gt
opensuse 11.0
x86_64

this is the type of errors in the /var/log/messages

Your hard drive is messed up. Fix that, before attempting to place the blame elsewhere

that is not the problem
it is raid0 driver for two raptors, so that can be ignored, as that is not to blame for no display on monitor.

nv driver works, but that one is slow

Mount your raid via Device name instead of Device ID to get rid of those "Buffer I/O error on device" errors.
