Default No EDID detected on 177.70, 177.76

Hi everyone,

I'm running in weird troubles since last time I upload from 177.70-1 to 177.70-2 (ubuntu packages). Previously all my home monitors used to be recognized for Twinview by their name (i.e. EDID detected?), namely my Samsung and Dell monitors. Since I lastly updated the driver, none of my monitors could be detected any longer and I was having the "NoEDID detected ..." message for any monitor that I connected on my VGA port. The card I'm using is GeForce 8400M G, and my resolution was stuck on 640x480.

As soon as the 177.76 driver was released, I updated my driver, now the Dell monitor works in an unpredictable way. I have to hotplug and unplug and hotplug it again in order to have the display. The samsung one does not even dare to display anything but "no signal"... At least, on the Dell monitor, I can now have the 1024x768

Does someone have any hint about that?

I don't think my EDID has ever worked for me and my old Compaq P110, which is odd, because the EDID detection works with the free nv and vesa driver. Distributions other than Debian / Ubuntu that I've tried, usually detect my monitor just fine.

@Leech,

I bet you're right, and all my monitors used to be detected fine before until I went through the last updates. They are not detected any longer, so twinview hardly works on most of them. I see it as a regression in my case
