Default Missing framebuffer modes - VGA BIOS fix/hack?

I have a Zepto Znote 6214W laptop with a 14.1" display with a native resolution of 1280x768.

My video card is a nVidia Corporation G70 [GeForce Go 7600] rev 161 and the supported framebuffer modes are: 320x200, 320x400, 640x400, 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768 (each supporting one or more color depths).

As you can see, the native resolution is not available, so my question is, if it's somehow possible to make it work (fix, hack, patch, whatever the VGA BIOS maybe)?

TIA for your help!

bump. Same question.
Intel users should be able to use i915resolution for this. Any NVIDIA-way available?

That's like changing one drawback for a much worse drawback.

I don't understand why there is no widescreen support. VBE 3.0 may not be that popular but aren't most of the new (five years or younger) screens widescreen displays? Isn't it just a mode table that needs to be updated?

And why doesn't a laptop card/module, which in 99% is used with a widescreen display, support the according widescreen resolutions?

Already tried
nvidiafb is buggy. For example tuxonice don't work with it.
