I bought an EVGA GTX260 locally this weekend, but had to return it becuase it died when I fired up the first game. So now I'm going to order one for next weekend, but I'm wondering what the best bang for my buck would be.
So far I think I'm going to go for a GTX260 core 216. Would that be the way to go? I can get the superclocked one for an extra $9, but unless the superclocked ones are binned higher there is no point. Anybody know if they are? Also wat kind of clocks are people hitting with these? If I can get a 216 model and hit 650MHz I bet that would be close to GTX280 performance. Any comments or advice? Thanks!

I would spend the extra couple bucks. I've got a superclocked 260 and it goes to 666Mhz no problem. I've never tried any higher, and I'm sure any of the upclocked models are binned higher than the stock clocked ones so you should expect better oc potentials. That card has been dirt cheap on newegg recently so a very good investment!

Ok, well given this along with the other threads/benchmarks I'v found, I think an EVGA GTX260 core 216 Superclocked is the way to go, but they need to come up with a shorter name. lol
