I'd keep it if you don't use any AA and only play crysis. If you plan on upgrading to a bigger monitor soon, I'd exchange it for the 4870x2.
The GTX 280 is a great card, don't get me wrong, but the 4870x2 is the stronger of the two, and the microstuttering some people mentioned(people who have never even used the card to begin with) is not noticeable at all on the x2. I've actually used both during my last job, granted I never got to spend much time with either, but at least I've tried 'em both and dug the 4870x2 more. It's also cool to know that you have the fastest card on the market! (Nvidia's drivers are still way better though, but that might be because I'm used to the nvidia control panel.)

Dude...you've only got a monitor that goes up to 1680 x 1050. One GTX 280 is already overkill for that resolution.
I'd say keep it and wait to see what nvidia brings us at the end of the year. Or sell the GTX 280 along with your 22" monitor and get an X2 along with a 30" monitor.

you best bet would be to;
enjoy what you have. maybe go practice some meditation to detach yourself emotionally from physical objects. trust me. if you get a 4870x2 you will still be in the exact same situation. it's all in your head. |

Okay, I've heard enough.
I'm keeping with what I have. I'm going to take that $600 extra i have, stick it in a bank, and add to it, so when the next plaftorm and chipsets come out, the next video card, processor, I'll just dump it all on a news system at that point. many thanks for the help folks! |

If you're going with bigger monitor, that's where you need GTX280. I own SLIGTX280 never had any issue with multi GPU support. It really works awesome especially in Crysis.
I'm waiting for price drop to get third GTX280 - Tri SLI is coming ![]()

Yes Folding @ Home is what I was referring to. Trying to find a cure for diseases/cancer.
I wouldn't waste my power bill on Seti. Folding@home My notebook, (8600M GS) and PS3 also fold. ![]()
