Default Re: Kernel 2.6.27 patch for legacy driver 96.43.07

Please note that 96.43.09 was released (see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=122139) yesterday, which should build fine against Linux 2.6.27 out-of-the-box.

I upgraded to 2.6.28 and ran into a slew of problems, first off being a kernel panic during the disk mounting phase (fixed by making an initramfs image- seems that they made a large change to the IDE driver subsystem that using generic drivers won't attach the disks on an NForce2-based system now). With that out of the way, the 96.43.07 module refused to compile. So I logged on and found 96.43.09. It compiled, but the module won't load:

Looks like 2.6.28 made a change to the agp drivers subsystem as well, and I suspect many other things were changed as well. I'm pretty sure I didn't disable anything in the process of building the kernel, I just copied the old config file I used from 2.6.27.10 and did a make oldconfig, and only enabling new compilation of new modules.

Right now I'm back on 2.6.27.10 with 96.43.09. Seems to be working fine in this version of the kernel.
