Hm... my only question is whether or not I should get this for the PS2. It looks like it might be better suited to a controller.

i have the game.

the graphics are VERY nice.

bump mapping everywhere you look

makes things look very real. nice lighting effects too. and the "things" looks very gross as they have shiny textures.

ill post some screenies when i get home tonight

oh.... the game itself...

its certainly designed for the console. you cant look up and down with the mouse. the game is quite kreepy too. nicely animated models too.

its great too the way your companions become frightened, makes them much more believable.

You can't look up and down with the mouse? Do you have some kind of beta? That's like reverse evolution. If the retail is like that here's one person who won't buy it. Maybe when it's discounted--coughdownloadcough--I will try it.

Thumbs up The Thing

I just got it sunday at bestbuy, there selling it for 39.99, I had a 20% coupon from my PC gamer mag, so cost me 34.00, You got squad member's to interact with and you interact with your envirnment with different item's, got a cool flame thrower. sound is good, graphics are pretty good, the game only requires direct X 8.0

Between that and Deus Ex, i'd pick DX

The story of DX is more appealing.

Also, you are given like NO information about what different skills/attributes do in SS2, so you have no idea how to develop your character

I agree, they are very similar, except for the scare factor that Dues Ex lacks. Dues is much more fun to play especially if you like to sneak around.
