Default 177.80: Mythtv flickers/No hardware acceleration

When I have compiz running and I try to watch mythtv, I get a flickering of L shaped patterns repeating across the entire mythtv window. I am running the latest 177.80 drivers. I have noticed that when the widget layer plugin for compiz dims the screen to draw the widgits, the mythtv window no longer flickers. I have tried it so the plugin does 0 diming and when i display the widgets, the flicker is no longer there. Thus, that can be considered a "work around".

When I disable compiz, I get a very choppy video. At most 2 fps. Most likely no hardware acceleration.

I have noticed this bug for a while now from the betas.

For now, I am downgrading.
