I finally got around to finishing this one up. While I did enjoy it, it reminded me of several things including the game Doom III, Aliens movies, 2001 and 2010 Space Odyssey movies and John Carpenters "The Thing".

Overall, very much an old school style corridor shooter, but good.

Played on mouse and keyboard and totally got used to the controls after a couple minutes.

I was on mission 8 and totally enjoying the experience and then something happened (i ended up deleting a directory i shouldn't have) and the next time i started the game i was presented with a 4x3 aspect ratio screen and a 1024x768 resolution (my native res is 1920x1200). From that point i knew it was not going to be good and it wasn't so now i have to start the game from the begining again. That not to bad me thinks, i am currently going through Resident Evil 4 game (Thanks to the RE5 demo), and once i have done that i will go back to Dead Space.

Hold up. You couldn't change the res unless you started a new game?

For me the game was very polished. I just would have liked less Aliens and more The Thing. So less action and more horror and tension. For me the best atmosphere is knowing it's there, but not actually being able to find it and kill it. i can't wait for the next installment though. Hopefully they come up with a better story too.

Same here. I didn't finish it. :: I did like it though, and I love the movie.

I have it on HD-DVD. I also have the PAL DVD, which was a very poor transfer, so the HD-DVD was a huge step up.
