For me the game was very polished. I just would have liked less Aliens and more The Thing. So less action and more horror and tension. For me the best atmosphere is knowing it's there, but not actually being able to find it and kill it. i can't wait for the next installment though. Hopefully they come up with a better story too.
No, it reverted back to that resolution (1024x768) when i booted the game. That's when i knew i may have to start the game from the begining.

Sure....if your aim is to give them nightmares that is . The remake is rated R in the US and 18 in the UK for a reason. You should still check it out, one of John Carpenter's best films

+1, enjoy bro. Easily GOTY for me.
The upgraded weapons + suits really are a huge bonus. The puzzles are also great.

My kid brother (he's 36 ) gets very jumpy in games - he almost beat up his cat playing this when it jumped on to his desk while playing around midnight.

LOL. Poor kitty.

I actually didn't jump in this one much at all. I did in Doom3, FEAR and Bloodlines, but not this one. I think it was the constant onslaught that made the experience wear thin. I think in these games they need to build more tension and have fewer more deadly enemies. Hell look at the Ocean Hotel level in Bloodlines. There are no bad guys in that and it's still the creepiest level in a game... Ever.

Google the vsync fix for Dead Space and mouse lag. Basically you disable vsync in Dead Space and force it in the Nvidia drivers. Much better and mouse really helps in this game to quickly meet those enemies behind you.

i have never been killed by alot of different enemies, so when i played through again, i purposefully let them kill me to see the different death sequences. very cool.
