It reminds me alot of System Shock 2 when it comes to the atmosphere... you just feel so alone which makes you check every freaking corner... every sound makes you nervous.

Never played SS2, but I always liked these freaky games. I wanted to wait for the PC version due to superior graphics, but I think I'll go console for this one so I can play it in the living room on the big screen. With people around me. And the lights preferably on. lol. Should be fun times.

How's the combat, Magus? Is it like Resident Evil 4?

I am not a horror fan, but Dead Space looks damn enticing.

The way it controls and plays feels great. They made some great control decisions for the console version. You don't need quick aim or fast response most of the time so the need for a mouse in combat is really not important. The movement is controlled with the left stick while the right looks. Best thing is you can aim and still move, open doors and even pick up objects... no need to fumble between buttons to when caught unprepared.

Im surprised with the lack of combat though, almost an hour into it and combat isn't that often. Its mostly navigating creepy hallways with an encounter here and there...

Not at all. Precise shots are not needed, just aim for a limb and take it out... no head shots require aswell as the enemies don't take too much to take down if you dismember them properly (taking out their legs doesn't work as well as I thought).

It really is alot slower paced then I imagined, but I like it like that. The atmosphere really shines when your not running around blasting everything.

I just looked, yes Dead Space does have subtitle option. It's off by default. Also I asked my friend and he said yes it has subtitle option.

remember where you are, entire forum is dedicated to PC related topics like hardware, software(games) etc.., with tiny little section for consoles.
there is reason why there are seperate threads in console section.

go post about console version in there.
