Default Motherboard question.

Well, my P5n-e sli carked it, and i'm looking at getting a new motherboard. Getting either a Q9450 or a Q9550 at the same time, with a budget of $900 or so. Remember, this is australian dollars. Interested in the Striker II Formula (keeping with the DDR2 i already have) or possibly something more substantial.

Post your ideas and/or comments.

I'd recommend you try a Gigabyte board. There are many to choose from, many with DTS Connect. Have all the goodies like solid state caps and a crazy amount of options for overclocking.

Does it have to nforce BTW? Planning on SLI?

LOL

ASRock. Worst motherboards I've ever IMHO. My sister had one. So unstable.

+1 for Gigabyte boards. EP45-DS4P is a great board with excellent OCing features. It doesn't have SLI though, since it's Intel P45 based.

It doesn't have to be an Nforce board, but in the future i may be looking at 2x 280's, so Nforce would be preferable.

Then you're limited to 780i which is DDR2 based. eVGA 780i is a nice option.
