That's what I downloaded, I think

And it works great. The new textures are pretty spiffy.

Some of those look great, some of those look terrible. I'll take the original design, personally.

Just installed it this morning.

Extract the rar using 7zip, winrar or whatever, and just click the setup.exe. Painless and worth it.

Iirc I installed winrar temporarily just to run this installer on version 8. Lengthy, but worth the wait. It really does make it seem a whole new game.
I didn't even know that ep2 was out....

It's been out for a while Bro. Best yet imho, both graphically and gameplay. I bet you'd enjoy it.

Honestly, looking at those shots, all the character models are higher detailed....but they look like crap, the only thing that looks good is the world

So is there any new gameplay here?

or is it simply a GFX overhaul for EP1 and EP2?

I don't recognise some of the locations and characters.

It's a total graphics overhaul. New textures, models, music (which really enhances teh experience IMO).

along with that, it has the dynamic shadows found with the EP2 engine update along with a MUCH further draw distance. no more fog concealing what's off in the distance (most noticable on the coast maps like the scene when you come out of the tunnel and see the huge bridge)

It's worth it IMO. It's a MUCH better gaming experience if you can run it with all the graphics maxed out. Definately breathes new life into the aging source engine.
