I want episode 3 as well, but I don't think it will be a failure. The people making those games are geniuses. Every aspect is spot on.

That mod doesn't hold a candle to the Fake Factory one. Not even close.

Where is that last pic of the lift from? I don't remember that from HL2...
It's on the train at the end of EP1. I posted 4 more pics after that one from EP2.

A matter of opinion. One dude sees a chick and thinks she's hot, another sees the same one and thinks she's a dog. Same way when chicks look at us. Just the way it is.

Look at the pics I posted and then look at the ones posted after mine (of the more original Alyx). Choose which one is a more attractive girl. In those second ones she looks like a dyke, but again it's a matter of opinion.

Yeah they're not going to dump one of the greatest game franchises in history right before the final chapter. My best guess is that they're either (or) making sure the story finishes right and that any loose ends are tied up or properly veiled for a possible sequel, they're doing extensive play testing to iron out as many bugs in the game play as possible (valve are HUGE sticklers on this as the commentary through the various episode play through talk about) and with any luck they're implementing awesome new features into the engine.

any of these alone can cause delays so who knows what their reasons are. The only thing I know is that up until now, every wait they've made us painfully endure has been worth every minute.

They've only got one shot at closing this masterpiece right. If it takes making the public wait for them to perfect the final chapter, so be it.

In the meantime, CM10 offers an extraordinary total graphical (and audio) overhaul to the game and preserves every bit of the original content, game play mechanics, etc.

It's the only way I will play this game from now on

Fake Factory does everything that other mod does and so much more. You cannot even begin to compare the 2.

I posted that very same thing very early on in the other thread

Hell, even in update 5 or 6, I think the CM was already pushing the limits of the engine and had universally applied all the enhancements through the various episodes.

I have replayed the entire game at least once with every update of CM. I played through it with the new HL2 mod that you linked to and it's nice, had CM not existed and done it all before.

Same here. Once you've played with the FF mod, it's pretty hard to find a reason to play without it. It's up to 10.1 now and 10.2 coming shortly. There has been so much improvement from versions 1-10. I think the ones who seem to find fault with it (HL purists and all that nonsense) are the ones who haven't downloaded, installed, and played it for themselves. Took me until a few days ago to try it and now I'm wondering what the hell took me so long. BTW, it doesn't interfere with the original game, you could still play it if you wanted to. Also, needs a 64 bit OS to play it (there is a stripped down lite version for a 32 bit OS but it lacks a lot of stuff and is untested). You can even play it without the HD characters if you wanted to. After seeing them though, what a waste to play that way. Especially Alyx. The original is very ordinary compared to the HD version. It's like the difference between taking your plain jane sister on a journey or taking someone on that journey that you also wanted to spend a lot of time in the bedroom with.

Also- with how much of the story needs to be closed to bring about a proper ending- EP3 could be an 8+ hour game. This would explain the duration of time needed to release it. I'm sure *many* people would be very happy if it were this length and it properly concluded the story.

I'm also sure many people would be happy if the kept the HL universe alive. I would be- I'm just skeptical how long the story can continue before it becomes boring, repetitive, and cliched.
