well, so far they've kept it rather fresh. not 100% innovative but a great story none the less and the played out themes that they have used, they've introduced them to the story in a way that doesn't make me roll my eyes.

I don't think it will end much of the story. I don't think even Valve know what's really going on in the HL Universe...

I've gotten that impression my self- that's probably what makes it so great, it's just random.

Are you referring to 10.02? Because I have it installed with the 10.02 update, maybe you meant 10.03 instead? Hmmm... now that I think about it, I haven't checked about any updates for the 10th version in a long time, the last time I checked 10.02 was just released, so if you really mean 10.2 then I must have missed updates from 10.02 to 10.19, is that the case? If that's it then I have missed a lot of things, I don't even have the links I had kept in my back-ups for downloads and news regarding FF updates.

Is forum-3dcenter.org still the place to look to for FFCM updates? It's been so long...

No biggie but a new eye shader is coming in the next small update.

Thanks.

Alright so it looks like the latest update was 10.10, and the previous one was indeed 10.02, so I only missed 10.10 itself and nothing else in between, that's good then. I might install 10.10 later, and I need to play Episode One again, I haven't played it in a year or more, I usually stick to Episode Two when I do play FFCM.

I will say this is really really impressive with the quality of work this guy has done. I don't understand why people would ever complain about it!?! Especially because it's free, but WOW is all I can say. I can even run this with all the settings maxed out, even AF, AA. Smooth as butter!

There is also 1 large torrent out there.

The reason he did so many .rar's is for people who can't download the entire gigantic file in one shot.

Thought I would bump this bad boy up.

I'm about to the part where you get the gauss gun mounted to the air boat and so far, I'm actually extremely shocked at some of the gameplay modifications.

Shocked in a good way

New totally redone weapons. The glock looks AMAZING and has a laser sight. The iron sights is a VERY welcome addition as the cross hair is gone. The glock's kick back makes shooting so much more of a challenge and more realstic feeling. No more popping 3 perfect shots into the combine from 50 yards away any more. The weapon actually moves a little as you're holding it and the kick doesn't let you fire off really fast round with the accuracy you used to be able to do.

The machinegun is now an MP5 and it's MUCH more lethal. Headshots are CRITICAL now with this mod. On normal difficulty, the combine are taking 6 or 7 rounds to the body but 1 head shot. With the MP5, a quick spray of a few bullets in the general direction of their head usually is enough to drop them.

I haven't used the magnum much but it's even more challening than the glock due to lack of laser and iron sights narrows your vision and slows the running speed down to walking.

Basically, the shooting mechanics are as good as I've ever seen, the gun models are INCREDIBLY detailed and the shooting mechanics are amazing but I foresee that dividing fans into those who love it and those who hate it. You can't run through areas blazing it up like rambo and drop everyone in the blink of an eye. You actually have to aim the thing like in real life and it's a more engaging form of combat IMO.

More to come.

Yah, the game is definitely more challenging now

I am also at the boat level and just got the Gauss gun too

The enemies also seem to be doing more damage per hit, which makes it harder to simply run and gun
