Hi guys. Playing Far Cry 2 and I'm stuck on the level with all the trigens. Basically I kill them, then i go back 5 mins later for a little bit more health and they are all respawned. :: Halp! Am I missing a script trigger point or what?!

Do you have to play the first game to understand the second?

if you played the first 30 minutes of the game, you basically seen everything this game has to offer. after that it is just rinse and repeat.

Nope. Not even related except for the name. With all the hoopla of this game, I'll take the first one any day. This game (second) is just taking up disk space for me now. I just don't care for it.

No kidding. The game does get VERY repetitive and boring. Fighting same enemies in every godforsaken same spot every 30 sec with every so predictable machine gunners on a jeep with recycled mission objectives are one hell of a yawn-making ride plus going from point A to point B takes like literally 5 min of nonstop driving only to fight same enemies risen from the dead over and over again. I felt prince of persia was somewhat similar to FC2 in terms of repetitiveness. Assassin's Creed was repetitive too but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I got bored with FarCry 2 also. It completely lacks everything you would expect from a sandbox game. There is absolutely no reason to explore besides searching for diamonds, that's it. Everything else is repetitive game play. The game is beautiful though, but needs more colors than green, yellow and brown.

STALKER>>>>>>>>>>FarCry 2.

Shooter of the Year, 2008, according to PC gamer.

Personally I would have said Dead Space, if that's considered a shooter.

Well that's tells me a lot about PC Gamer. For me this game was this year's worst shooter. A total waste of money for me. I tried and tried with this game (I do with all games as I don't have cash to buy and throw away) and the more I played it, the more I disliked it. Some games for me are slow to like at first and by the time I finish I end up liking them. Some games I like from start to finish. This was not one of either of those. I finally canned it and chocked it up to the win some lose some experience. Just not my kind of game (well actually it is but the game makers screwed it up so bad, it ended up not being). On Dead Space; now that was a good game for me. Can't say anything bad about that one. It was well done and right up there with Mass Effect and Bioshock.

I don't think Farcry 2 was bad, it was just very dissapointing. I really got into it eventually and put in 20-30 hours, but at the end of the day it's a fairly mediocre shooter, and a mediocre open-world game... the two together do not equal awesomesauce just on principle.

If 5 is "average" I would give it a 5 or 6... there were moments I was really enthralled, and there were moments I almost couldn't stand playing.

It's like an ugly chick with a great personality. You want to fall in love with her on principle, but damn... she's just ugly.
