So far so good, fps is not an issue for me at the settings below. Mouse feels about as good as soldier of fortune but I really like the games details. I feel there is reason it’s set in flatlands most of the time you can’t see more than a few hundred feed in front of yourself. It’s not at all like the large vistas of FarCry...so far. Cars are easy to drive and not overdone. I would have liked a outside view when driving but ehhh. Day\night cycles are awesome, nice weapon feeling from everything, gameplay is really fun. Running in XP right now, average about 30fps. I'm going back in.

Edit: Smooth mouse on somewhat fixes my mouse feeling, G5.

So there's no configuration program that starts up when you attempt to launch the game for the first time (like in the original FarCry)? Or, there's no configuration program you can launch separately before starting the game?

That stinks if neither of those is the case.

The gamespot review sounds great.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/farcry2/review.html

I'll probably be picking this up sooner than I planned...

Though I really wish I had a bit more graphics power to push this game.

Guess I'll jump on the hype bandwagon and pick up this game tonight after work. I just have no self control when it comes to new games some times.

I'm sure there will be edits or mods to tweak any annoying stuff as usual like blatent respawns, etc.

Since there is so much driving, how are the vehicle handling and physics?

Vehilce handling & physics are great, feels pretty responsive, vehicles roll & jump as they should, hang glider behaves well too.

go here 'C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2'

and edit the 'GamerProfile' file, change 'Platform="d3d9" to Platform="d3d10", problem solved for those having problems with the 180.42's

Everything sounds great, I can't wait to get home and play.

For those who have used the map editor, how easy is it to use compared to Crysis Sandbox?

Well if i said it's the easiest & most intuitive map editor i've ever seen i'd be telling the truth.
