I think the game is very polished and well made. Also relatively bug free compared to other recent games. I'm loving it it's so immersive.

It feels too "digital" - unnatural.

Just does not flow for me.

It's a test version and not working properly. Arg. Cause all shadows to disappear.

That does seem like a reasonable reply when you see that someone does not enjoy a game as much as you and burst into a panic.

I made that decision a while ago. I removed all Creative Labs products from my PC. Oh the stability! The end of BSODs, the end of sound issues! I never looked back, you can too.

I didn't like the first 1-2 hrs of this game. I was concerned I'd just wasted dollars on a boring repetitive FPS.

However, after that, it became inexplicably exciting and addictive, and stayed that way until at least 50% through, where I am now.

These things were critical:
1) PC version with Quick Save / Load.
2) Widescreen hack - no more headaches and hard to drive vehicles.
3) Use the buses whenever an objective is remotely near one.
4) Ignore checkpoints, drive through or around.
5) Put some effort in to enjoy the game the way it was meant, go sneaky or busting, choose your own style and appropriate weapons and enjoy the game mechanics.
6) Play the main missions so the story progresses at a reasonable pace.

Perhaps not best game ever, but 9/10 now, would have been 7/10 if I'd judged it after only 1hr and without those tips.

Yeah. I was the same. After about 1-2 hrs I thought it was pretty crap, installed Fallout to play it, then I decided to give FC2 another shot, glad I did, was a great game. Still sad my first buddy died in my arms. Must have been something she said.

100% agree with you there.

lol. She's not dead, I just got a call from her, caller ID showed up as Jenny 867-5309. Did she look up at you and ask "Do you really want to hurt me?"

From my experience it's more realistic than most other games, as it's much harder, and I've not had any problems following real world tactics. The eye catches movement very easily, so make sure you are not moving until they look away. If you sit still in some grass at a reasonable distance they wont spot you. If you are going to get real close you better not find your self in their line of sight.
I must suck or something. I dunno. Yes, to answer your questions, but still I find it far too easy for them to spot me especially at night. Daytime I can see them spotting me, but at night...come on. It's as if the night makes no difference.
