Not it's onsale here. Marked down from 70USD to 35USD. I find it strange all other premium games are 49.99USD while Fallout 3 has decided to stand alone and go for 69.99USD... Instore I can get it for 50AUD?! Ah. It's hurts my brain thinking about it.

Finished Point Lookout, as in all the quests in the add-on and discovered all marked locations... took me 16 hours, according to my save files.

5 stars all around, loved it... only complaint would be I wish it was a real expansion.

I just got it on Steam too but haven't had time to play it yet, what is the FOV mod you did? I'll probably have time to play it tonight or tomorrow morning and would like to try the FOV mod if it makes the game look better. Thanks for any info.

The FOV change wont make it look better since all its doing is changing the FOV... and its not a mod, just an ini line change.

It does make it look a bit better by giving you more view all around, unlike getting picture chopped in some games using widescreen.

No need to get mod since you have to do is change few lines from fallout3.ini. Here's a nice guide from Tweakguides.

http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html

The guide on FOV is at page 8.

You can check other tweaks like increasing the LOD distance, etc. to make Fallout 3 look even better. Be sure to backup your fallout3.ini before you make any changes though, just in case.

Thanks for the information I'll check it out.

I knew it wouldn't make it look better, as in better looking textures or whatever, just seeing more which sometimes makes the game look better to me if the FOV is too narrow.

Again, thanks for the info. I should have tried Tweakguides but didn't think of it

Don't increase your grid size... it makes the game an unstable POS.

That was the 'first' thing I did when I got outside on FO3. I was going off of the tweakguide suggestion... I forget what I set the parameter to, but it was a big jump in what I could see in the distance.

Lol, I was barely getting a constant 15 fps, but 'holy shiznittens': it looked amazing.

So no kiddin eh... upping that parameter is no bueno for Oblivion as well?... that sucks if so.
From the hours play (testing) I've done in Oblivion, I see no reason to mess with anything as it's gorgeous with all the settings maxed imo.

Hmmm, 16 hours sounds like a "real expansion" to me.
