Actually the only reason I don't use 180.43's is because it has issues with the shadows in LOTRO (shadows are artifacting ). If you really want I'll post a screen of the EVGA precision utility after play Max Payne for a bit.

Max Payne 2 is so CPU limited on modern GPUS it should be doing exactly what it needs too. Unless you are losing substancial performance.

Hello. I just got a brand new Dell computer running Vista 64-bit that is loaded with a GTX 280, 8GB RAM and a Core2Quad 9550 @ 2.83 ghz. While performance is generally better than my former machine which was an XP based computer with dual 8800GT cards - there are some seriously nagging issues. First of all, World of Warcraft runs WORSE than it did on my last computer, which ran it at 60fps almost all the time with no stuttering. The GTX 280, according to the fps monitor, also runs the game at 60fps most of the time - but it stutters pretty bad and it is very annoying. I have tried out all of the Vista 64 drivers that I could find for the GTX 280 and I get the same thing with every driver. Is there something that I'm not doing correctly? Of all games that a GTX 280 could choke on...why Warcraft?!! ANY computer can run that game. Please help!Thank you very much. |

Chris. Is it possible we get one more option in Control Panel to disable or enable this power saving feature, cause i would like to disable it. I think having option in control would satisfy everybody.
Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting one of those Core 216's next week, and was wondering how this feature affects over clocking?

No problems here.
I used riva tuner to monitor the hardware change and it works just fine and is very transparent. I mean you don't notice the change but it is there. No stuttering either ![]() Fan stays at around 40% and don't change much so noise lvl is not bad at all. I expected it to be worse then my gainward 8800gt but to me it seems to be lower noise lvl even.
