Well it depends if you like Red Alert as a series. That alone was enough for me to buy. If you're a more casual RTS guy you can probably wait for SC2, but this game does provide a lot more depth than is immediately evident on the surface.

Short skirts rule. So do big... well, you know. Currently on the Allied campaign, had to stop it half way through. I was getting some crashes so I decided to redo my Windows installation.

I was getting some crashes, but what do you know, I disabled my Audigy 2, enabled my onboard SPDIF, and no more crashes.

Now to try FarCry 2, which I'm sure will be fine now.

Oh, and add me to your friends lists in-game if you want. My ID is stncttr908, as usual.

Looks like this one will sit on my desk with farcry 2 (which managed to survive all of 3 hours on my harddrive) until I finish the good games I'm playing now(fallout3 and deadspace)...and with only about an hour worth of gameplay done in Fallout3, C&C 4 may be out by the time I'm finished

after reading the comments made here though, I'm honestly not surprised. Each game has gotten progressively worse and worse IMO and I've been playing them since the original back in the day.

I don't think RA has been getting worse, it's just been eclipsed by other games in terms of features/balance.

I still love RA3 though. It looks fresh but still retains a bit of nostalgia.

One criticism I have for this game is you cannot really come to "like" or really "hate" any of the characters, not like in Red Alert 2. It's hard to say without giving any spoilers, but you never come to really know any of them well enough before they have a sort of "fatal flaw." It's hard to connect with any of them. I still have yet to play the Japanese campaign though. But this one definitely doesn't have any characters that you could get interested in on the lines of General Carville, Premier Romanov, Yuri, or Einstein in RA2.

RA3 is a real disappointment for me. The movies/sp was so..lame. Much of the focus on the sp is about showing off the girls with there..cloths that is 2-3 sizes too small to them...

/sigh...

Well, when going for intentional camp, sexy chicks are kind of par for the course. It's like all those B movie horror flicks with boobs... it's kind of part of the package.

I still have not purchased Red Alert 3... mostly because I still have not completed C&C3: Kane's Wrath, which I feel like I should do first. I like RTS every once in a while, but I don't play the genre as much as most others that are into it.
