GTX260 OCing and fan speeds

I can OC my GTX260's SLI over 700mhz, but then the temps climb to over 75c and I start seeing artifacting after about an hour... what temps do you keep you 260 under and what fan speed do you set it to?

I had it around 65% but found it was getting a bit loud so I went back to auto, but auto doesn't do a good job of keep the temps down, when my temps went up I couldn't hear the fan speed increasing to try and compensate...

I did run my fans a 55%, which kept the cards well below 70*C (OC in sig). I'm using a fan profile in the nVIDIA CP now which speeds the fans up as the heat increases. It works very well. The best way to keep your cards cool without upping the fan speed too much is to have good air flow through your case

Mine is bios flashed to start at 80% (not that loud in my room) keeps my card at 50c idle, and under load it climbs to 88~90% at 77c max temp @ load.

Revs could you provide more info on this...

I have 6 fans in my case so i think my case flow is pretty good

My card right now is idle at the stock 40% fan speed & at 45c(overclocks in the sig)but that's with the central heating on, its quite chilly outside now here in England! ... i did try adjusting the fan speed and bios flashed it to start at 60% ... it knocked my card down to 40c idle but i just could not get used to the sound from the fan speed that's why i flashed it back to the stock 40% ... the only time my cards heats up loud enough for me to hear/notice the fan kick in is when im gaming but i don't hear it then as i have headphones anyways.

I keep my fan at the default 40%, and with my overclock I peak at 76, and idle at 42. If I run my fan at 100% I peak in the low 60's, and idle in the high 30's.

Anything under 80 is good, as I know anything under 90 was acceptable on 8800's.

Why not keep your fan always at say 80%, think it will burn out that much sooner?

Unless you use the card 24/7 for over 4 years there should be no chance of the fan giving up unless something is wrong.

If you can stand a little bit of noise then I would keep the fans at 75 to 80%.I keep mine at 60% and so far I have'nt seen it hit 70c.

I will agree with that ,but I don't like seeing my card hit 80c ,so I can live with 60% or 65% .It looks like they could put a cooler on them just as cheap ,that is'nt so loud in keeping the card cool.

I don't like the noise, though I have had two bearing go out in my time, but those I'm sure were faulty bearings as those fans were at stock speed. I might boost mine up to 50 or so as it's not too noticable and might make the chip last a bit longer.
