Hey newbz, it's obvious you didn't take the time to read this thread....or are you just reading challenged? The link to the Directx End-User RunTime file is fine, it can be easily downloaded from the MS website. But when you try to install it, it fails because it can't download the components, then suggests that you try it again later.

Here's the link I was referring to: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

So use some brain cells before you make some derogatory remark!

Why in the world are you downloading the web installer? The redistributable IS the full update and it bypasses the validation checks and having to wait for downloads. Why wait for downloads when you can get everything in one file? It's also only 85mb

And do yourself a favor and STFU, I wuv Nekro

Again, the link to the FULL update executable without having to wait for a web installer download.........confirmed working, no errors, just good clean fun

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Get it while it's hot!

Web installer is way better. I don't have to lurk for webage or link, i just run old web installer when update is released for DirectX and it updates. The updates inside are auto updated so i always get the latest. Why wast time and download entire stuff each time heh...

Actually, I'm not sure! I have been doing what you've done, just downloading the updated, latest web installer. It's really no biggie though, always being a small size file as it is.

Why would anyone need to do that? : :

BTW Web installer is usually the way to go if you are updating 1 pc, it only updates what is needed and avoids bloat.

Also the waiting for downloads remark is rather stupid. The web installer only updates what it needs to, so out of the two it's the fastest. redist is really only required if you want to back it up or are rolling out the update on a few PCs.
