Default Windows Updates And Routers

I noticed a trend on my network with windows updates.

Can certain settings on a router impact the outcome of windows updates?

I would download the updates and as their installing, some of them error saying it couldn't apply updates and this is with verious systems including a couple of my own.

I don't have any special settings on the linksys wirless n router but openDNS and the basic wep settings to use mac adress cloning.

This is a strange issue that has been going on for quite awhile since last spring with windows updates.

It could be MS not clenzing their servers to deploy updates.
