I actually feel sorry for Nvidia now...How are they going to dig themselves out from this one? Just stop with more lying and denial and admit responsibility. For the sake of credibility, please.

your conspiracy theories are moronic.
How is it in FUTUREMARKS best interest not to have the test be fair?

Not only that, but EVEN the nv35 is vastly slower than ATI's 9700/9800 in PS2 ops. If you disagree, offer proof pls. My proof is in any shadermark/shader test comparison.

What they should do is put all this behind them and work their arses off for the NV40 and prove to everyone that they can still come up with the goods. And also drop all this marketing stuff

Ok, so Doom 3 is the next step in graphics, I mean, it pretty much represents the future of graphics AND it uses PS2.0. Few will disagree there.

So...

How is 3dMark2K3 an accurate representation of "future" games if the NV35 is CLEARLY the best card for Doom III, yet a "poor" performer in 3dMark2K3?

Who gave the NV30 the "Best Graphics Processor of the Years Award 2002" Strange considering it wasn't available.
Nvidia's Marketing and mass media manipulation is out of control and needs to be aborted.
It is going to be the death of the company if they don't smarten up.

feels at home.. but at the same time lack of MUltitexturing test /and PS1.x
were ATI cards generally slower..
..so basically you're saying a benchmark designed to test gfx cards for their ability in future games should use PS1.1 and avoid using VS ..?

That reminds me, hey everyone:

What about this?

The app detects which kind of card is being used and then determines which shader version to use, assuming the shader doesn't need any specific features of PS2.0

Is this possible in DirectX?

I must have missed Doom3 being launched, cos I was sure that the actual GAME doesn't exist yet..

We've seen a snapshot of code from a basically finished engine, for which nVidia had semi-optimised drivers whilst ATI couldn't even use the latest Cat 3.4's due to a conflict.

The nV3x is running on a path tailored to its strengths.

The R3x0 runs on a generic path and happens to perform acceptably (good engineering imo )

I'd hardly say anything is clear at this point.

Thats a good idea.

Anyone know?

Although it would be HELL for Nvidia fans and benchmarks

OK, we'll have to talk again when the full game comes out. I know ATI will double their FPS to beat Nvidia when the full version of Doom 3 is released.
