I actually feel sorry for Nvidia now...How are they going to dig themselves out from this one? Just stop with more lying and denial and admit responsibility. For the sake of credibility, please.

How is it in FUTUREMARKS best interest not to have the test be fair? Not only that, but EVEN the nv35 is vastly slower than ATI's 9700/9800 in PS2 ops. If you disagree, offer proof pls. My proof is in any shadermark/shader test comparison. |

What they should do is put all this behind them and work their arses off for the NV40 and prove to everyone that they can still come up with the goods. And also drop all this marketing stuff

So... http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1821&p=22 How is 3dMark2K3 an accurate representation of "future" games if the NV35 is CLEARLY the best card for Doom III, yet a "poor" performer in 3dMark2K3?

The app detects which kind of card is being used and then determines which shader version to use, assuming the shader doesn't need any specific features of PS2.0 Is this possible in DirectX? |

![]() We've seen a snapshot of code from a basically finished engine, for which nVidia had semi-optimised drivers whilst ATI couldn't even use the latest Cat 3.4's due to a conflict. The nV3x is running on a path tailored to its strengths. The R3x0 runs on a generic path and happens to perform acceptably (good engineering imo )I'd hardly say anything is clear at this point. |
