I am having trouble hosting a online game in the CoOp mode. It worked one night & has not since. Keeps giving me a message stating "Not enough players to start the game" Or something to that affect. I have also gotten messages saying "Server timed out".

My game is with STEAM so I believe I have all the updates. Tried disabeling Nhancer, but same thing.

Any suggestions?

If you do co-op you have to have more than one person or you will see that message. You need to have at least you and one friend to do co-op. Server time out error could be the game not connecting to master server, I've seen that error before or it could be your internet connection. Make sure you have the latest 1.6 patch also.

i would like to see more also, but i dont think there will be anymore. too bad cause im not into mods or third party maps. Treyarch should do a community mappack, just pick out 6 or so of the best maps out there. hell they could have a contest for that matter ...

Don't know if anyone reads this thread, but whatever. So I tried using a free temporary server for W@W over at Gameservers.com. They send you an e-mail with a password to connect to the server, and an RCon password.

If you find the server in the browser and just double click it to connect, it doesn't ask you for a password, it just says invalid password.

Are you supposed to select the password option at the bottom of the screen, enter the password and click OK, then Join the server from the list? This seems backwards, but I tried it with the same results.

Do I need to enter the password with quotes around it?

Anyone ever done this successfully?

Also, the patch notes for 1.2 said they fixed connecting to a passworded server from the browser. Does that mean there is another (older) way to connect to a passworded server? From a command line, maybe?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

start your local copy of W@W

once you are at the in game server browser hit the tildy (~) key (located upper left hand corner of your keyboard). this will bring down the console.
Then type
password your_passward_here
hit enter

then click on your serve and you should be able to join if you have typed the correct password

Thanks 'dog! I'll try it again tonight.

BTW, I've been meaning to ask you, I see all the stuff in your sig about what you do, FPSAdmin, MS MVP, etc.. What's your primary occupation, that has you flying all over the globe all the time? Is it the MS thing, do you actually get paid by MS? Or are you also a journalist? If it's not too personal...

Thx again.

I didn't even realize there were mod tools for W@W! I'm going to download it and check out the map making tools. I hope it's similar to GTKRadiant or the Source tools.
